First thing this morning, I received a call from Warren telling me that the National Grid guys were there to put in the gas meter and new pipe. I was so pleased he called me as they were planning to put in a brown box in the ground. Which was not the arrangement so I was relieved that Warren spotted the mistake. All is looking fine now. Meter is in and so is the box on the bottom of the newly built bay wall. We hope to have the rest of the bay built by the end of the month.
Later Philip and Roger came in the morning and by 9 the first logs were laid and by 2pm the cabin was standing proudly, they started putting up the shingles. Tomorrow they will finish off the roof (as they were short of 1 pack of shingles) and put in the insulation and floor ready for us to treat it. The weather forecast is not good so hope it will be dry enough to start this.
