In our hall and front room we had the original Victorian wooden floor boards, in the dining room they had been replaced by 3m long pine ones.
As the state of some of the joists in the hall were not good and there was a slight level difference between the 3 rooms, putting a new floor with electric underfloor heating and tiles could have become a problem in the future.
Sean suggested to take out the whole of the down stairs, tidy it up and fill up with concrete.
The wood was taken up on Tuesday and after putting it on Freecycle it had all gone the next day.
Well, some of the new boards I kept as I will use them as edging for the long flower beds that we will have in the garden.
On Friday the cement people will come at noon to lay the kitchen floors (neighbours as well) and the rest of the house. This should be dry on Saturday when Warren, Kenny and Richard are back to finish off the installation of the rainwater harvesting system.
